Big Data? Do not Deceive the Mass again

Pascal said in his book ‘Pensees’, “Man is only a reed, the weakest in nature, but he is a thinking reed.”
In the Eastern thinking frame, a human is assumed a small universe, compared with the nature, the great universe.
It seemed there are many levels of scientists, from sublime ones to businessperson-like ones. The businessperson-like ones endeavor to exploit the results of more basic theories for making big money.

We don’t negate the profitability of the commodities and services produced out of scientific researches, and have no intention criticizing about them. But we could not see that they exaggerate the commercial possibilities before the ‘credulous’ mass.

Big Data? Baloney! It is argued that Big Data can know all the consumers’ minds. It could be patient to argue that part of consumers’ minds can only be identified momentarily or in a very short-term. That’s it. Do not cross the line. Humans are affected by several factors like ‘reeds’, and moreover have their own wills.

It is surmised that all information among all peoples on the earth are collected and can be analyzed meaningfully, and predict their consuming conducts exactly. Is it possible? In my opinion, it is certain that all the information is just a sum of ‘rubbishes’. If Big Data technology is able to know the minds of all the consumers, the universe does not surely keep its order or exist for a few seconds.

The other day a few of colleagues invited me to have a lunch. They over-drank alcoholic liquors over eating, only talking about making money and complaining corporate politics. Generally, we forget having enough to live on daily and humbly thanking for them. Businessperson-like scientists are full of big bang of making money, materialism, marketing-centralism, and media attention. Their excessive desires tarnish the intelligence and reason, as the much liquors hypnotized my colleagues.

In addition, there is one thing which we have to indicate. That is personal privacy. Why does a company collect all the information of one person? By what right do they amass individual words, emails, chatting contents, etc. (The end)
