Facebook That Let Small Investors Sad

Facebook’s IPO seems an almost thorough trickery, which is likely to be cunningly manipulated based irresistible greed and hasty realization of wealth.

They hid the negative research report and shared it with only their few favored clients. And they offered too high price and issued too many shares, which is general experts’ opinions.

In terms of the Internet history, Facebook can be classed a kind of an emotion model. Google is a benefit-ads model; Yahoo and Naver are an information platform one; Apple is a content platform and appliances model. MS is a SW appliances, and information platform one; Samsung and Nokia are an appliances one. Amazon is a physical goods and contents delivery one.

Facebook and twitter are the last evolved model, which features human’s connections (social networking) grounding emotions, memories, and feelings. For this, Facebook and SNS are considerably different from the other previous internet models. Maybe Yahoo would be most similar to or parent of SNS.

Facebook has an emotion element so that it has spread the world in a very short time. But there couldn’t find out a definite profit model after almost connecting the world. It sounds natural to me.

In Facebook we can obtain no information. We can obtain friends’ advice and recommends immediately by mobile. I am always afraid whether my private information exposes or not, though I want to search for old friends.

Facebook is not a hub (platform), but only a dot. If we try to contact someone we want by dot to dot, it takes longer time to search for the person or it couldn’t work.

Facebook might follow in the footsteps of Korea’s ILoveSchool and Cyworld to which Koreans at first paid huge attention but now disappeared or diminished to one fifth PV(page view) of this year compared to the previous year.

The ‘connection’ itself cannot become a profit model, should be added something useful or noticeable to users.

In my opinion, Facebook, Twitter, Cyworld, big Communications companies all are trapped in crisis. Especially, the big communications companies of their own countries touch all the areas, without their unique competitive services or contents. They run tens or hundreds of businesses under the brand of their communications.

Now being in the stage of media segmentation, individual companies should review their competitiveness, and then strengthen their uniqueness and character. (The end)

The Economy of Mind

It can be said that today’s economic crises are rooted in our minds. Abundance itself generates several mental problems, which is the very moral hazards such as laziness, envy, waste, levity, diabolism, etc.

The rapid advance of science and technology demands the humans’ surrender to the tools and methods. Modern youngsters seem totally dependent upon the mobile phone or tablet. The economic development ironically enlarges the rift between the wealth and the rest rather than before.

Media also aggravate the situation. Media provide the people with consumerism and sensationalism. Some says extremely that the media in fact control our organization, institutions, and individual lives.

Despite these circumstances, diverse social and economic policies by governments have been busted mostly. Small northern European countries seem to only maintain the government’s faces.

Let’s look at this in detail. The richer we are, the more we spend on the expensive commodities and going at luxuriant restaurants. This incites the price level to increase highly. Then news media make fuss why the government does not stabilize the high prices. The pressed government goes down the prices, importing overseas by using emergent budgets, which increase government’s debts. Politicians having their terms prefer short-term popular policies to long-term strict ones. As a result, the governmental public debts have been amassed. We see now eurozone crises and Japan’s credit degradation.

We should first of all heal and correct our minds. We need mind’s policies urgently. We should not expect that comprehensive school education can do its role, or news media carry out such a function. No! Secularization, management-centralism, and competition drive the so called public organizations out of the normal tracks.

Government’s interference in the people’s minds might remind us of the past totalitarian governments. The relation between morality-ethics and politics has its long, bloody history. It is because religious factions have thought their monopolistic authority on morality-ethics. The Religion removed, instead Nazism and militarism had the position for a while. There come the democratic societies where the despotism was expelled after the World War 2. The democratic societies were not ‘the end of history’.

In democratic advanced societies, postmodernism and vulgar mass cultural commercialism occupied the place of religion, philosophy, and totalitarianism. The depravation of the morality-ethics have gradually made the economic achievements a great empty shell. At last the ‘old-fashioned’ national capitalism is threatening the democratic economic system now. If the national capitalism prevails over the free economic regime, it is a retreat of our mankind history. For this, the economy of mind is needed imminently. (The end)

The Segmentation of the New Media

Facebook shares dropped 12 percent to $33.76 – below the company’s final $38 price in the public offering last week. Yesterday all the news media made a great fuss about the steep drop.

The drop looked no shocking to me. Why? In Korea, Facebook bubbled up. Many people registered their names, but they hardly use it. Koreans came to know the serious leak of privacy, and there is no information in it except for unexpected visits by forgotten acquaintances. We can’t find out reasons to stay long.

The people are confronting too many choices. They are looking at the screen of mobile devices, bending the head, not seeing the street through the bus window. Younger persons really are too busy to check the new media deeply related with their lives. Soon they should be forced to divide the time available shorter.

The media segmentation is looming up out of the confused, fierce competition. How do the media companies deal with this new situation?

The media companies must, first of all, concentrate on their own core competitiveness. While neglecting the core, many companies spread their new business areas. This greedy extension reduces the life span.

As soon as most Korea’s companies got the first success, they are not satisfied with their main commodities or services, and hurry to extend to neighboring areas. They excuse such an overflowing for the narrow local market scale. That makes sense a little, however, they are too voracious and ignorant of the basic business essence.

Secondly, they must strengthen their unique character and brand identity more than before. In terms of ‘character’, Google, Amazon, MS, Samsung, Facebook, Twitter is stable, but Apple and Sony is unstable.

In the meantime, any companies can enter into an emerging market. Presently the biggest emerging market is ebook. Ebook market still does not have big hands of which no one account for over the half of it. In the ebook, there are no reasons for which any one does not participate. In the U.S. ebook market, now 4 companies of deep pockets are severely fighting for the more occupying.

Amazon is preparing for entering Korea this year. Korea’s companies related to book, communication, internet portal are trembling in the tremendous changes to come. Korea’s ebook interested parties do not yet agree with some common devices. Part of the disagreement is due to too fast and frequent development of several devices. I think that some users and authors could welcome Amazon, by which they easily have the opportunity to contact the world content market. (The end)

The Unquestioned Rule of Journalists' Writings

For the last one year one podcast had stirred up the nation and Korea’s media circles. The hosts attacked the living power including President Lee and exposed their wrongdoings with the filthy and vulgar language. The book one host published rolled on the bestseller lists. Even another host ran a candidate of the opposition party of National Assembly at the last April election.

The one year’s drama of the podcast, sarcastically titled ‘Naneun Ggomsuda (I’m a Petty Trickster)’, suddenly ended as if many fans come to know and are disappointed with the real appearance of their loved stars unmasked from their make-up and powdered face.

The podcast spoke out the unproven facts without hesitation. Their expression of political preferences was so overt that their language is beneficial for the opposition party and progressive forces, but hostile against the ruling party and conservative forces.

In the position of the general readers, since the internet age the frank, emotional, outspoken, aggressive, subjective language looks fresh, while the authoritative, rational, high-browed, objective one looked obsolete, even an anachronism. This changed taste of the general people gave especially large impact on the traditional media and journalists. Some hasty and younger journalists mimicked the new born writing styles and even became passionate followers toward the emotional and subjective styles.

All things have an end. We humans are forced to learn some lessons after making mistakes.

There need different writing styles for different media, that’s right. But journalism has a rule that defines its existence. Its rule is ‘objectivity’. The journalists’ reports are the same as the written judgment, government’s official writ, a detective’s record, a valid contract. It’s not a novel, poet, column, speech, argument made on the ground of ‘subjectivity’.

We must remember that ‘journalism has a suffix of ‘ism’, which means a belief. The belief of journalism is the objectivity that all persons can accept. Of course, the complete objectivity could be impossible enough, nonetheless the journalists must seek for the truth, facts, evidences, eliminating their own biases. If they do not like these things, they should search for other jobs.

At last recently the general people seem to know that SNS and the emotional writings, flashy pieces of marketing are only a passing wave. Journalism is a practical tool-like belief and agreement. If we abandon journalism, we will be inconvenient, what’s worse, we should be in a world of falsehood, distortion, and lies.
Then the Lord said to me, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds. (Jeremiah 14:14) (The end)

The Fatal Attraction

Super Junior, one of Korea’s most popular boy bands, got together 110,000 spectators at the May 12 and 13 concert of Tokyo Dome. Tokyo Dome is an Asia’s symbolic place of the huge music performance. Last March the agency of Super Junior received applicants to see by mobile, which astonishingly reached about 400,000, and obliged to pick out 110,000 among them because of limited space.

Lady Gaga’s three days concert of the same month in Japan collected 60,000 fans. We couldn’t help compare these two concerts, featured the foreign but different styles and natures.

According to the Eastern view of the nature, Super Junior is Yang, while Gaga is Yin. Super Junior consists of 13 young boys, therefore, their voices and dancing express strong masculinity. They are pouring enormous male hormone, which makes secrete female one.

Gaga is a mutant of Madonna, the ‘ominous’ acme of postmodernism. Madonna and Gaga represent the returning of the prehistoric matrilineal society. But whether being conscious or unconscious, they have been putting themselves into the third hybrid of male and female sexes. From the opposite starting line, Michael Jackson evolved into the same post. During the last 20-odd years, the neutralism have governed the world, now the fans feels tired of their repetitive shouting, swearing, pornography.

Super Junior sings simple love, routine happiness with no cynicism and unconditional refusal towards the modern world. Super Junior, unimaginably 13 boys, are dancing and singing with earnestness and levity. They show mass game and do not hesitate mimicking celebrities like Steve Jobs, Hulk Hogan, Marilyn Monroe, Superman. They are deserting the conceited interpreter’s role of postmodernism, willingly serving the place of the traditional party boys.

The third sex makes weaken the desire of reproducing and breeding, then evaporate some earthly hopes and dreams gradually. It is analogous to the same phenomena that in the monastery or temple aren’t there little invention, discovery, creation. That processing is a road to extinction, end of ours. Do you want this really?

We humans have the limitation, must perceive it thoroughly. The moment we transcend the marginal line, our existence is immersed into the disassembled state of the borderless world. Crossing the line, we cannot come back to the limited, but sometimes happy lives by the second law of thermodynamics.

Postmodernism can be said a reconnaissance of Buddhism, Babylonian and Brahman pantheism, etc. The material civilizations grounding these spiritual perceptions disappeared in the BC. Why? They themselves do not want and need the material developments and civilizations. Today we only see some hereditary festivals and holy documents.
The God says firmly, ‘the limit to the humans’. Because the God loves them, and wants them to enjoy some happiness as a human during remaining on the earth temporarily.

The same-sex is to cross the unauthorized line. I could recognize it their human rights, but the community recognizing it officially might be on the course of extinction. (The end)

The Courage of Businessmen

As the world businessmen seem to be crazy about Myanmar’s democratizing steps, FT indicates, ‘You should not get carried away about it’.

FT says: Myanmar’s output is two-fifths that of Vietnam. Its workforce is unskilled because the annual spending on education is half that on defence. So it means hard for foreign investment to capitalize on the country’s low wage levels – half of those of Vietnam and a fifth of China’s. Public sector corruption is the worst in the world after North Korea and Somalia. Infrastructure is poor, yet public opposition to construction is rising. Especially, FT is concerned that Myanmar’s military hates being marginalised. FT reminds us the past ‘ominous’ conduct that the military government cracked down the last time the country opened up, in the 1990s, halting foreign trade reforms.

The objective sight by the economic press seems reasonably plausible, but if I dare say the one of business is thought unreasonable.

First of all, this is the very unskilled and low-wage workforce that the developed and developing countries are looking for. This simple and cheap workforce lacking in investors’ countries I couldn’t help telling Myanmar’s competitiveness.

When South Korea started the economic plans in the 1960s, public sector corruption was as very serious as today’s Myanmar is. As the grade of the corruption in South Korea is now a lot reduced, it still remains. The transparency is the ideal vision, but the reality is different. In the lush forest surely do poisonous mushrooms exist. Exactly saying, in the advanced countries there are the instituted and structured corruption such as financial moral hazards, excessive welfare and consumerism, abundant sex and porno industries etc.

Poor infrastructure is a massive opportunity rather than a weak point. It is a hasty prospect that halting foreign trade reforms in the 1990s could happen again. The 1990s has passed a long time ago. The military regime might have not agreed with the speed of opening up, but not the establishment and people seems postponing the reforms no longer.

In my opinion, it is guessed the military government takes the initiative of this reform, not enforced by Aung San Suu Kyi and her party.

The present military power might be modeling the Park Jung-hee government of the South Korea President of the 1960s and 70s. Maybe the military government could think their reform is more efficient, appropriate, and realistic than the one of the democratic government of Aung San Suu Kyi. Which way will be chosen depending on the people.

Anyway, businessmen must find invisible opportunities which general people and depthless scholars do not see. In Numbers of the Bible, only 2 persons, Joshua and Caleb, among 12 ones correctly evaluated the facts and truth, in exploring the land of Canaan.

Western businessmen do not have as much courage and passion as their ancestors. In the western economy there subtly seem full of heavy and big brains nowadays. (The end)

The Causes of Sony Difficulties

Sony’s problem, if speaking by one word, is ‘failure of sustainability’. The ‘sustainability’ is whoever wants to have it, as if humans wish to live forever. As an organization or a society or a nation which many persons and generation by generation can involve, those are not thought impossible to live continuously. But what those realize ‘sustainability’ is a very, very difficult thing.

What is the first impressive feature when seeing Sony and the other big companies, which once had had their tremendous competition in the world? It looks an excessive self-pride. Historically, we already know the Japanese pride, Kamikage, hara-kiri (disemboweling oneself). They dislike ‘humiliation’, ‘defeat’, so choose suicide.

The ‘sustainability’ begins by recognizing ‘defeat’ ‘mistake’ ‘fault’. The ‘sustainable’ organization thinks that ‘suicide’ is not a solution, but only self-extinction.

The Japanese self-pride achieved the climax of their technologies, but the culminating position itself deters needed innovation.

Today in the knowledge and information age, the learning and diffusion of edgy technologies are too easy and speedy, moreover the technology is only an element of the whole resources. As a matter of fact, scholars willingly teach their foreign descendants their knowledge, and entrepreneurs transfer their technology and factories to emerging countries for their profit. Also, you are not able to hamper the contributions of retired engineers and managers. In other words, the Japanese strong points can be said not differentiated ones.

Despite this circumstance, Sony seems obsessive about technologies and external influences of high technologies. Why is their sight so narrow and stuffy? Easterners are not yet accustomed to science, truth, and universal value. They stick to old-fashioned values like national power and empire authority. They do not consider individual happiness, study for the truth itself. Due to these thinking frame and poorness of value goals, the Japanese, the most excellent student among the Eastern countries, hastens to run after anyone’s heels.

In my opinion, South Korea, China, and India should confront the long recession caused by the lack of sustainability earlier than Japan now experiences.

Easterners must still learn philosophy, methodology, systematic ways of thinking from the Westerner. Do not say ‘The Asia Era.’ (The end)

The Foreboding of the Prosperity Dying

As it is not a perfectly consistent theory, there is a generally recognized belief that how magnificent the wealth of a person or country is, it does not go beyond the third generation.

What is the first sign of its weakening? It is thought the time when the divorced couples and singles increase. The abnormalities of marriage and family certainly make the society stressful and aggressive on another. Though it is disliked to accept for the collapse of families to lower the competitiveness of a country, it is an undeniable truth.

Prof. Hyeon Yong-Su, Tamud’s pundit, published a new book titled, “The Secret of One Body As a Man and a Woman That the Bible Explains”. He studied how to reduce the divorce rates for a long time. This new book is the conclusion of his long efforts and thinking about how to choose the spouse that would not take apart.

First of all, he introduced an ideal bride, referred in the traditional Jewish communities. An ideal bride is required the three characteristics, sympathy, faithfulness, kindness.

He modernized the Talmudic wisdom and Biblical teachings to the seven conditions for the spouse:
1. Match the belief of religion.
2. Choose the spouse that has the same spiritual and emotional levels.
3. See the character.
4. Place importance on sincerity and abilities within a man, internal beauty within a woman.
5. Look for the spouse who has learned a musical instrument, calligraphy, and tea ceremony.
6. Consider your coming child’s appearance, body, and mind.
7. Avoid such the mate who is easily enticed by skinship.

President Obama recently endorsed same-sex marriage. The issue of gay marriage in the U.S.A. seems to be decorated with the value of human rights or progressiveness. Obviously we humans seem to walk beyond the ‘dangerous’ line the God cannot persevere. It came out that the God might choose the other nations unknown to us. (The end)

The Real Crises of Europe Have Come

French people rejected the austerity. If they had chosen Sarkozy, France and Europe economy will have clearly recovered in the present mire though in a slow pace.

Now the fate of France, Greece, and Europe is proceeding in the deeper darkness, and each of EU members is going to struggle to survive for self.

Honestly, I thought that French people would be different from the Greek. The result was the same, though Hollande won over Sarkozy in a small votes.

Generally people don’t see themselves. Physically seeing the self is impossible, whether the local people know the scenes and problems very well or not. This is a matter of judgment and angle, also concerned with psychological unrest. Therefore, outsiders’ advices are beneficial to the people concerned. It is not a matter of the world leadership, great pride of the French Revolution. You have to open your ears as a patient listens to a doctor’s words.

What do you think of the ‘Austerity’? The austerity is not a punishment, but a sour medicine, which is surely going to heal the patients. You have spent too much on basis of your income. Your vacation was too long. I think the Austerity is a kind of ‘dieting’ for the obese persons. It is not a complicated, humiliating problem. Nonetheless, the French conducted themselves emotionally and, furiously.

Hollande, in his campaign, promised to hire teachers and raise taxes on the wealthy. Teachers are the typical cause of over-budgets, In the Internet and green-economy age, teachers should be diminished and rearranged to the other value-added industries. And the wealthy are not the cause of the present economic crises. Generally the wealthy are working during the vacation, while the middle-leveled people are enjoying it freely and lightly. If the government raises the taxes on the wealthy, they enjoy the vacation the same time as the middle, without innovating businesses. The burdens on the wealthy will lead to the thin pockets of the general people.

After French and Greek elections, many experts’ tone on the media seemed different, looked like more rhetoric, less antagonistic. Why? The outsiders who will be also affected by the European economy are beginning to distance them to protect their interest. The experts are thinking they do not need to have awkward relationships with Europe, which would be fallen behind the normality. (The end)

We Produce 'Culture'?

A Korea’s big company announced its slogan recently, ‘We Produce Culture’. Seeing the announcement, I felt a little nauseous and disgusting. It is awful that commercialism makes use of ‘culture’ impudently in this way.

If you produce ‘culture’, a singer, film director, actor, author, philosopher, conductor are your workers?

The meaning and scope of ‘Culture’ cover all lifestyles, philosophy, science, engineering, factory, cities, races, folklores, etc. Culture is analogous to an almost all-fit key. So a pseudo-intellect is apt to be packed an expert in culture. But, it is nonsense to say that he/she is identified as an expert in culture. Because one person cannot nearly cover and know ‘culture’. I do not say there never exist such persons reaching it. Becoming an expert in culture is really similar with being a calm, full but humble, cool state obtained after the long journey of storm and stress.

What is most ‘cultural’? If anyone has three features such as variety, humility, uniqueness at the same time, we can call him ‘cultural’. ‘Culture’ is a state, organism, phenomenon, not a product to be made.

So ‘culture’ is ‘how to deal with and be applied’, not ‘how to produce.’ Culture is a living being, characteristic of ‘change’, ‘structure’, and ‘interrelation’.

If we produce a commodity or offer a service, we have to match the cultural factors concerned with it. Of course, we should not ignore the moves of the whole culture.

Culture has the opposite forces, to change and to keep order. These conflicts are combined with the other forces and the larger surrounding ones such that the grades of the change are determined and different respectively at the time and space.

Culture can be said ‘long-term based climate’ and ‘daily based weather’. Therefore, as we are not able to control the climate and weather, we do not produce ‘culture’. To do best is only to accept and exploit it with good heart. (The end)

Do You Know Great Power's Disease?

All the countries and people are mesmerized by the enormous sizes and fastest speed of Chinese economic achievements. The secret of the magnificent growth considerably lies in the huge sizes, which make grow other companies and industries consecutively, and moreover one another. As a result, the Chinese economy is building colossal skyscrapers, gigantic cranes-lined docks, immense manufacturing districts, etc. Historically, such the Chinese advance velocity and volumes seems unimaginably massive more than the ones of the emerging U.S.A economy in the early 20th century.

However, there is an important difference between today’s China and the rising U.S.A of the early 20th century. The new U.S.A had the Puritan morality more than the old Europe, while China does not have such a moral excellence that the other countries give respect to.

Such Chinese economic growth gives fears to neighboring countries, because they are increasing military power and generate territorial conflicts overtly.

Chinese threatening power is putting the neighboring countries in the situation strengthening military relationship with the U.S.A.

In fact, ‘greatness’ itself could be a poison to them owning it. ‘Greatness’ means ‘above appropriateness’, therefore, it leads to unnecessary costs. The weakening of the U.S.A. is nothing but the accumulation of unnecessary costs such as a series of wars and maintenance of great power.

Physically ‘greatness’ means the distancing of networks and focusing on the central point, therefore as it goes on and on, its inefficiency and ineffectiveness loom up gradually.

So, I give advice to you the next: Slow down the speed, and enjoy the power slowly, getting well along with neighbors.
In Europe, the three big powers of Great Britain, France, and Germany experienced the two World Wars, being in search of the forever empirism. The U.S.A and Russia also have had little peace even after the Second World War.

'Greatness’, ‘Racism’, ‘Nationalism’ and ‘Patriotism’ only require huge blood and sacrifices in exchange of ephemeral self-respect.

In the 21st century, we must discard the win-or-lose mindset inherited from the 20th century. Let us all live together and solve the climatic catastrophe. A small island like a palm is really important to fight for each other? Pumping up oil in the sea contributes to its grass rooters’ well-being? If so, Russian people must have been the richest in the world. Natural resources should form a very few oligarchs, regardless of the general people.

Our global citizens must drive out the bad politicians, irresponsible instigators, and wicked ideologues. (The end)

Big Data? Do not Deceive the Mass again

Pascal said in his book ‘Pensees’, “Man is only a reed, the weakest in nature, but he is a thinking reed.”
In the Eastern thinking frame, a human is assumed a small universe, compared with the nature, the great universe.
It seemed there are many levels of scientists, from sublime ones to businessperson-like ones. The businessperson-like ones endeavor to exploit the results of more basic theories for making big money.

We don’t negate the profitability of the commodities and services produced out of scientific researches, and have no intention criticizing about them. But we could not see that they exaggerate the commercial possibilities before the ‘credulous’ mass.

Big Data? Baloney! It is argued that Big Data can know all the consumers’ minds. It could be patient to argue that part of consumers’ minds can only be identified momentarily or in a very short-term. That’s it. Do not cross the line. Humans are affected by several factors like ‘reeds’, and moreover have their own wills.

It is surmised that all information among all peoples on the earth are collected and can be analyzed meaningfully, and predict their consuming conducts exactly. Is it possible? In my opinion, it is certain that all the information is just a sum of ‘rubbishes’. If Big Data technology is able to know the minds of all the consumers, the universe does not surely keep its order or exist for a few seconds.

The other day a few of colleagues invited me to have a lunch. They over-drank alcoholic liquors over eating, only talking about making money and complaining corporate politics. Generally, we forget having enough to live on daily and humbly thanking for them. Businessperson-like scientists are full of big bang of making money, materialism, marketing-centralism, and media attention. Their excessive desires tarnish the intelligence and reason, as the much liquors hypnotized my colleagues.

In addition, there is one thing which we have to indicate. That is personal privacy. Why does a company collect all the information of one person? By what right do they amass individual words, emails, chatting contents, etc. (The end)

The Age of Excess

The world’s financial crises derived from the Wall Street were, as known to everyone, due to greed of bankers and investors. The agonizing European economic difficulties are also owed to excessive welfare systems made by ‘populists’ politicians, and the people spent the ‘free’ budget without guilt or concerns.

Today modern persons, especially in the developed countries and middle-leveled countries like South Korea, consume all products and services extravagantly. Their consumption is boosted by ads and PR by way of the media. The media give an illusion to the general people that they might become like stars. Internet and mobile let the consumers’ purses exhaustively hollow.

It is assumed that companies themselves are riding one-wheel cycle of growing. If they stop growing, some economists say that the companies should fall to the ground immediately like one cycle. They claim that ‘maintenance’ is ‘retreat’. Is that right?

In a short-term, the claim might be logical, but any country keeping economic growth is possible? Moreover, almost all of the countries on the earth are presently running toward the economic growth. The outcome of growth is the excessive uses of natural resources and tremendous pollution, as we see the evidence in the melting Arctic and Antarctic poles. Really considerable economists conduct themselves like false prophets.

On walking in the park, I saw a dog with its owner. It looked safe and happy compared with the wild beasts. The dog does not need to be hungry and attacked to death. The owner gives meals and shelter to the dog every day. The wild animals have to keep hunting or eating something for survival. The God gives meals enough to live with dignity as long as we work sincerely and make a living decently. Nonetheless we are crazy to eat and spend too much, forgetting our already known instructions. Behaving ourselves like wild beasts, ironically, we feel ‘excessive unrest’ .
Stop growing does not imply stopping work. We can imagine ‘sublime life style’ and ‘empathy thoughts’ living with other peoples, animals, and nature together.

Luxury brands and expensive supper make your minds feel stable? Say to your inner mind loudly, ‘No!’. Greed will lead to more thirst. (The end)

What the Incident of Bo Xilai and Gu Kailai teaches

What the Incident of Bo Xilai and Gu Kailai teaches

Today we around the world see the deepest downfall of a famous powerful couple. It is as much dramatic as the movie-like personal lives of the couple overlapped with the contradiction of the rising Chinese power system.

As Bo Xilai’s father was purged from all the positions during the Cultural Revolution, he had also experienced sufferings in the countryside in his adolescent teen age, estranged from the prestigious high school in Beijing. After the Death of Mao Zedong, his father, Bo Yibo, was rehabilitated and held vice premier to the peak,

Bo Xilai showed his ability markedly during the mayoral office of Dalian City. But he deserted his first wife, the taboo of Eastern Confucian customs. Also he seemed to go against the main stream, running the Red Culture movement. Especially, his style seemed to remind the present opposite power group of the past fearful and ominous foreboding of the Cultural Revolution.

Certainly the Authorities will expose the truth and a few causes in detail. The Chinese political recruitment for the Politburo has been a mystery for a long time to the outside. Bo’s incident shed light on the dark side of the Politburo and members. What are its implications to us?

It is, one person should not have both political power and wealth simultaneously. Because what the politicians earn much money means they use their power of the official positions and networks, make unfair or arbitrary implementation of regulation and law.

Business as a tool of surviving or secular success has a nature of a living organism, which exploits the most advantageous and efficient one among all the resources available. If the political power (which is in fact most effective) is mostly available for the business persons, the profitable model is naturally developed into the political power-centered connections.
In the democratic societies, too, the scandals like this kind of incidents sometimes break out. In Korea, now two big figures who are reckoned respectively mentor and former powerful assistant close to the contemporary President are being investigated in suspect of bribery by the Prosecution.

There is nothing but transparency for the solution. The transparency is to check and balance among the political powers, and freedom of speech and publishing.

If the bad connections are not revealed in public and cut out at the earlier stage, the connections are institutionalized and proceeded in a criminal phase. (The end)
